George Beachum Jr., 30, was found guilty of first-degree murder after he shot 37-year-old Calvin Lee Rynes to death on July 6, 2015, at a make-shift bar called Shag’s Place in Jacob City.  The fatal shooting occurred after George lost money in a dice game.  George and Calvin had been playing dice and drinking for some time at the bar.  After George lost his money, he left the bar and returned a short time later with a gun.  He told the other patrons to give him their money, but Calvin charged him instead.  George shot Calvin twice, knocked him down and then stood over him and shot him twice more.  In all, Calvin was shot four times in the torso.  George collected his money and left, but was arrested later that same day.
