On October 1, 2005, James Dean Raymond, murdered Jesse Patchin by stabbing him in the neck during an argument over a drug deal.  Jesse’s badly decomposed body was found on January 20, 2006, in a field near Greene.

Charles Gallmeyer, 56, James’ uncle, who admitted being involved in the murder, testified against James pursuant to a plea agreement.  He testified that James stabbed Jesse in the neck and then Charles also stabbed Jesse several times in the back.  Charles testified, though, that he didn’t stab Jesse until after James landed the fatal blow to Jesse’s neck.  He said they killed Jesse in a fit of rage and then hid the body.

Charles pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of willful injury and will spend 10 years in prison.  James will spend the rest of his life in prison.
