Catricia Shelburn, also known as Catricia Brown, 33, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of Larry Brown, 39, of Ames. Ames police received a call at 1:15 AM on August 25, 2007, reporting an assault at 225 S. Washington Avenue. When officers arrived, they found Larry with a stab wound in his chest. he was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. Catricia was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
