A 22-year-old Jacksonville man was found guilty for his involvement in the 2011 death of another man.  Elliott Barnett was convicted of first-degree murder in the killing of 34-year-old William McFaline.  On May 9, 2011, Elliott, Rasean Vann and Chequial Williams planned to meet William so they could rob him.  When William met with them in the parking lot of Grassy Ponds apartment complex, Elliott got out of his car and walked up to William, who was sitting in another vehicle. 

After Elliott tried to rob William, he shot him seven times.  The tree then fled the area.  William drove away from the scene and was later found dead in his vehicle.  Rasean and Chequial both pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
