Laddie Dittrich and William Bland were charged with committing murder in the first degree in that they killed John R. Wisotzkey during the perpetration of a robbery.
In the early morning hours of February 17, 1973, Terry Perkins met and committed an act of prostitution with John Wisotzkey (the victim) at an Omaha hotel. A quarrel ensued because she did not get paid. On leaving, Terry met her paramour Leroy Montgomery, James Blank, another woman, and Laddie Dittrich, who were waiting in Leroy's car in front of the hotel. She complained of being roughed up and requested that John be asked about her money.
A few minutes later, John appeared and drove off in his car. Terry, the other woman, and three men followed. They ran John off the highway, stopped close by, and then all three men assaulted him using fists, a tire iron, and a bayonet knife. John died several hours later from the injuries. His billfold was taken. The contents were removed and it was discarded. It was unknown how much money was taken.
***UPDATE (12/11/2014): A convicted murderer out on parole after the state commuted his sentence now stands accused of sexually assaulting a 10-year old girl. Laddie Dittrich was arrested on suspicion of groping a girl at a rural Otoe County home.
