Six suspects will stand trial in the murder of 16-year old Montrell Wiseman. Angelo Tolbert, Joshua Vanackeren, Matthew Saunsoci, Adam Gamble, and Francis Cayou will stand trial for their roles in the murder.
Montrell and Desjuha Wilkinson were shot on October 21st at 21st and Binney. Montrell died at the scene, while Desjuha suffered from a broken pelvis.

The group wanted revenge for the death of Tony Saunsoci, Matthew's cousin. Matthew and the others were driving into known gang territory looking for rival gang members. Joshua Vanackeren was driving, but it was Angelo who opened fire with a 20-gauge shotgun on Montrell and three others sitting on a porch. Montrell was not in a gang or affiliated with one in any way. The shotgun was found less than 200 yards from the scene with three live rounds inside it.
The suspects were going to shoplift alcohol, but once in the vehicle, they started talking about getting revenge for the slaying of Anthony Saunsoci, which happened one month earlier. The men confused Montrell for a rival gang member and shot him outside the home at 21st and Binney streets while holding the door for his friends. By all accounts, Montrell was a good kid who became victim to a random and heinous act of violence.
Francis Cayou beat a man to death in 1996. Angelo shot the gun that killed Montrell, the gun belonged to Francis, and Joshua was driving the car.
